WOVEN and NON-WOVEN Textiles

Geotextiles generally come in two different varieties; Woven textiles, and Non-woven textiles. Woven textiles have many useful applications, ranging from soil stabilization in roads and slopes, to erosion control and more. Non-woven textiles can be used for drainage, erosion/sedimentation control, cushioning of geomembrane liners from sharp aggregate and more. landscape edging, landscape supply

PVC Liners

PVC is durable and easy to use, making it a perfect liner for beginners. Adhesive  will seam and patch PVC and requires no expensive equipment.PVC liners should be buried, the same as PVC pipe. PVC has carbon black as a UV inhibitor, however prolonged UV exposure will degrade PVC over time. Buried PVC liners will have a life of 20 years or more. Exposed PVC liners last a few months to a year, depending on the thickness of the liner.

PVC roll stock is 7.083′ (7.083 feet) wide. After subtracting for the seam, the width of the liner panels will be in increments of 7′. For example, a panel could be 14′ wide (2 x 7′ = 14′) or 21′ wide (3 x 7′ = 21′), etc. The maximum panel width is 140′. The length can be any value.

HDPE Liners

HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) is special form of polyethylene that has longer carbon strings with less branching. The result is a more compactable molecule and a higher density. HDPE is available smooth or with texturing called Microspike® to increase the slip coefficient. HDPE is shipped in large rolls and mechanically deployed. All seams are made in the field using heat fusion or a tape designed for geosynthetics. HDPE is slightly less expensive than other materials, but has a higher cost of installation. It can be cost effective in large projects. HDPE should only be installed by qualified professionals.

LLDPE Liners

LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethylene) is similar to HDPE, but its carbon strings have significant numbers of short branches that result in lower density and more flexibility. Like HDPE, LLDPE is shipped to the jobsite in large rolls and mechanically deployed. Seams are made in the field using heat fusion. LLDPE is available smooth or with texturing called Microspike® to increase the slip coefficient. LLDPE should only be installed by qualified professionals.

Coconut Straw Blanket

CS Erosion Control Blankets consist of a blended matrix of coconut fibers and straw. The matrix is composed of 30% coconut fibers and 70% certified weed free straw and is stitched between two nets.

The CC-4 Coconut erosion control blanket provides erosion control for a period of up to 36+months and serves as a mulching layer. Actual longevity depends on soil and climatic conditions. Available in a variety of roll sizes, CC-4 provides reliable, economical erosion control, ideal for slope projects that would benefit from the longest lasting and highest performance erosion protection. PP5 Xtreme Hard Armour

PP5-Xtreme is a continuously woven High Performance Turf Reinforcement Mat (HP-TRM). The woven structure of the material provides the longest lasting, most durable and strongest material in the Western Excelsior lineup.
